Water rationing a reality in Cape Town
Written by Keshia Jansen on October 27, 2017
Nine suburbs in Cape Town have experienced the effects of water rationing, a strategy implemented by the City of Cape Town to drastically reduce water consumption.
According to Iol, the following areas have experienced water outages as well as lowered water pressure: Platte- kloof, Camps Bay, Woodstock, Parow, Bishops Court, Constantia, Capri Village, Wallacedene, and Fairfield Estate.
It is unclear which suburbs are further set to experience water rationing.
Water rationing has been enforced as phase one of the Critical Water Shortages Disaster Plan.
Residents are urged to minimise water consumption and implement strategies to save water in and around their households.
