Namola app aims to #MakeSAsafe

Namola, a new crime response mobile application, has officially launched on Thursday.
Namola, in partnership with Dialdirect Insurance, has joined forces with SABC as its official media partner to make the crime response app available nationally.
The app is expected to reduce the pressure that has been placed on 10111 services by pre-screening alerts.
Namola will allow these centres to locate those in need of emergency services more easily.
Users may send information via Namola to a 24/7 response call centre quickly and efficiently.
The partnership’s press release states: “Namola is a free crime response App that allows users to share their GPS coordinates, name and nature of the emergency with a 24/7 response call centre. For genuine alerts, police, other emergency responses and citizen responders are then dispatched and monitored.”
The app is not a replacement for 10111 services, but rather a measure to be used alongside it.
Executive Head of Dialdirect Insurance, Warwick Scott-Rodger, has said “Namola is a smart complement to 10111. Your call will always be answered and the information will be passed on to the nearest police station. Namola doesn’t guarantee that the police will be on time, but it improves your chances to get help greatly.”
