Mnangagwa to be sworn in as president of Zimbabwe

It has been announced that former vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa will be sworn in as the interim president of Zimbabwe on Friday.

According to the state broadcaster, ZBC, Mnangagwa will return to Harare on Wednesday, after fleeing the country earlier this month.

It is understood that Mnangagwa will reach the Manyame Airbase at 6pm.

Mnangagwa left Zimbabwe after being dismissed from his position by Mugabe.

Mail and Guardian reports that according Information Minister, Simon Khaya Moyo, Mnangagwa displayed disloyalty, disrespect and deceitfulness, leading to his dismissal.
