8 arrested for murder & rape in Nyanga

Police say that eight suspects have been arrested in connection with rape and murder cases in Nyanga, Cape Town.
According to spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk, six of the suspects were arrested for rape and two for murder and attempted murder.
The first suspect was arrested on 30 December after he allegedly raped a teenage boy whom he snatched and dragged into a tavern in Browns Farm.
It is understood that the 25-year-old suspect held the victim captive for one day following the rape.
A 20-year-old suspect was arrested on the same day, for the alleged rape of a teenage girl in Samora Machel.
A further four suspects, aged between 15 and 22, were arrested for four separate cases of rape and attempted rape which is believed to have occurred during 21 and 31 December.
Two more suspects were arrested for separate cases of murder.
A 27-year-old was nabbed after shooting and killing a bus driver in what was believed to be a robbery.
The eighth arrest was of a 38-year-old man who stabbed and fatally wounded his wife during an argument.
