‘Mom’ of ‘monkey hoodie’ boy: Stop crying wolf

Screenshots of comments, written by a woman claiming to be the mother of the boy who featured in H&M’s most controversial ad, have surfaced on social media.

In the comments, the mother makes it clear that she is not bothered by the “coolest monkey in the jungle print” that her black son was photographed wearing for an H&M ad.

“I am the mum and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modelled…Stop crying wolf all the time, unnecessary issue…get over it,” one of the comments read.

“If I bought that jumper and put it on him and posted it on my pages, would that make me racist? I get people’s opinions, but they are not mine,” she said in another another.

The authenticity of these screenshots cannot be verified, and it is also unclear whether this woman is in fact the mother of the boy.

However, Twitter has taken it at face value and is outraged at the woman’s opinion.
