Police are on the hunt for a man with a “severely injured private part” in connection with the rape of a three month pregnant woman in Mbombela (Nelspruit), Mpumalanga.
According to a police statement, the incident occurred at a plantation on the Spionkop Road outside White River on Monday.
The woman is believed to have been hitch-hiking to the local clinic, with her 5-year-old child, when a white Toyota Tazz with two occupants offered her a lift.
However, the men allegedly held her at gunpoint and drove her and her child to the bushes nearby.
It is alleged that one of the men raped her at knifepoint while her child was forced to watch.
It has also emerged that the woman managed to bite the genitals of her alleged rapist, who consequently fled and is still on the run.
Police have urged all health institutions to contact Constable Solly Mabuza on 082 730 7590 or call Crime Stop number 08600 10111 if anyone comes across “a man with an injured private part.”
